Writing, or orthography, is often seen as the last language learning skill in learning English as a foreign language. The spelling of the words can be very different from their pronunciations. The English alphabet may be completely different from the Persian language alphabet, which makes the learners learn a new learning task called alphabet learning. 

It can be helpful to write by using the English language whenever you can and get writing practice. For example, you could write lists of things you need to do or buy. By doing this, you will find new words, and by writing these things down, you will learn new spellings. Write e-mails and notes in English whenever you can. Another way to use your writing skills is to write in a diary or journal in English. You can make notes on your day, including what you did, where you went, what you enjoyed or learned, how you felt, and who and why you talked to someone. By writing about your day in a journal, you will practice the past tense in English and develop your writing skills.
